XHide is not a standalone web browser, but rather a native privacy and security utility built into the XOS operating system used by Infinix Mobile and some Tecno smartphones. It acts as an encrypted “vault” to conceal sensitive data from your main phone interface.
While it does not browse the web, it secures the following data types directly on the device: Core Privacy Features
App Hiding: Completely removes selected applications from your regular app drawer so they are invisible to anyone browsing your phone.
Media Vault: Secures private pictures, videos, and audio recordings behind an encrypted wall.
Secure Communications: Allows users to save confidential contacts and hide private text messages or call logs. Stealth & Access Mechanics
Hidden Icon Mode: Once activated and configured, the XHide app icon itself disappears from the phone menu.
Dialer Access: To access the hidden vault, you must open your phone’s default dialer app and call a specific code combination (typically ## followed by your private password, such as ##1234).
Biometric Support: Modern versions of XOS allow you to unlock your hidden XHide directory using the device’s fingerprint scanner. Emergency Recovery
If a user gets locked out of their hidden vault, access can be requested through the dialer by typing ##00. This triggers the vault’s built-in security questions to securely reset the password without losing the hidden files.
